| Introduction | As a life long sports fan and lover of live entertainment, I have been attending concerts, ball games, festivals and special events since the late 1960s. I started visiting Cactus League Spring Training at age 10, and have witnessed hundreds of contests including Final Fours, National College Football Championships, The Masters, US Opens, a World Series, a Super Bowl, MLB All Star Game, NFL Pro Bowl, NBA Playoffs and a World Series. My love of concerts also started early when my dad agreed to drop me off to see Stevie Wonder and Rufus bring Motown to the Great Corn Desert of central Illinois. That started a love affair of live music that extends from shows at huge stadia and arenas, amphitheaters and historic theatres to blues bars, juke joints and honky-tonks. The pandemic quickly put a halt to our event-oriented lifestyle. Rather than sulk about what we are missing, we decided to look back at great events of the past that stir great memories and remind us of what awaits when we gain control of the virus and its impact. Our goal is to locate and post a ticket stub from a past event we attended that relates to all 365 days of the calendar. Is this even possible? |
