Introduction	I am married to Glenys and we have four children: Tara, Ashley, Hannah and Nicky. I have worked in education for most of my working life, and have held a variety of roles: secondary teacher, polytechnic lecturer, staff developer, union president (ASTE), head of school, manager of student services, corporate services director with responsibility for human resources, facilities, student services, academic registry and equity development. I served for 16 years at the helm of Otago Polytechnic, retiring from the CEO role in May 2020. I have remained involved in vocational education as a consultant and as the Executive Director for the Post-Secondary International Network(PIN).
