Introduction Everett Harman holds a Ph.D. in exercise science from the University of Massachusetts. He served for 24 years as a civilian research physiologist for the U.S. Army, conducting studies in biomechanics and exercise physiology, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs for improving physical performance. His current goal is to improve the physical fitness and health of the general population. His qualifications include National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certifications as Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer. He is on the NSCA Personal Trainer Certification Exam Committee and served on the NSCA Board of Directors as Vice President for Research. He has been honored by the NSCA as Sports Scientist of the Year and received its Lifetime Achievement Award.
