IntroductionI am a woman. I like to think of myself as strong, wise and adventurous. Actually, these are the qualities I aim for and I've not yet arrived. I have been married to my honorable and loving husband for almost 12 years and I am more in love with him than I was at 19 when we started out in our love which is pretty amazing because were were burning for eachother at that time! God has been good to us. We have 4 amazing offspring...Grace is 9, Darragh is 7, Judah is 5 and Henry is 3. We are doing our best to raise our children at the moment; a task we take quite seriously as we see our job as raising the next generation...the adults we are growing now will be running our world soon. I hope that they are responsible, thoughtful, God loving and happy people who can make our world a better place. That sounds so cliche but its the truth no matter how it is said.
Interests* Being with my family * hiking * drinking tea * watching my kids grow * playing World of Warcraft * cleaning my house * kissing my husband * homebirthing * my relationship with God * laughing hysterically (I need to practice this more) * craigslisting * facebooking * sewing * crocheting *eating. My main personal interest outside of my family is in regards to childbirth. I was dramatically effected by my children's entrance into the outside world and while it was birthing them into this world it was also a birthing of sorts of me into a motherhood and womanhood. Birth in this day and age in our American culture particularly has changed so much that woman are no longer aware of the choices they have in how their experience will be. We've turned childbirth into a medical event numbing the experience and removing the mother's power and putting the control into a doctor's hands. The doctors get the credit for the birth now not the mother! I am currently working as a doula (birth assistant) I am helping put the control and power back in the birthing mother's hands. I love how music is a language that both my body and spirit respond to. Music can communicate thoughts and emotions better than any arrangement of words could ever do. I wish I could play drums. I love being physically challenged. Whether climbing a mountain or giving birth, I love to see how much my body is capable of.
