| Introduction | I live with my family in a little house in East London. Growing up in the 1970s, when women were fighting for the right to have careers and equal pay, I always expected that I would be in full-time work for all of my adult life and never depend on a partner. It hasn't turned out that way. I did work full-time for years, but then went to University as a mature student, became a post-grad, lectured for a while, had a child and then....everything changed. I had a long spell as a stay-at-home mum while trying to complete my PhD, gave it up and now work part-time. I've realised that, after all these years, I still don't know what I really want. This blog is about me trying to find out what I really want and how to get it. |
