| Introduction | After I was born, I cried for 99 days straight to the chagrin of my immigrant parents and extended family. My mum had carried me, her first, in her womb to a funeral and a cultural superstition sealed my tearful fate: I would cry for 100 days after birth. Now I still cry a lot but for different, and more tangible, reasons that are splayed in headlines and especially in stories ignored by the mainstream. Any ordered thought amidst my temper tantrums here seek to do the unnewsworthy justice and to turn other souls onto critical thinking. |
