Introduction I, Antonio was born in the tiny aldea of Xix in the community of Chajul, Guatemala, up in the intensly traditional highlands. I belong to the Indigenous group called K'iche and speak my ancient language fluently. I inherited the power and energy of my ancestors through the work of my father, who is a living ajk'ij(priest-shaman) of our people. He also imbued me with a love and respect for elements of my people's tradition which were once lost to us and which have now been re-claimed, such as the sacred narrative known as the Popol Vuh and the Long Count of the Mayan Calendar. I, like many of my fellow Indigenous people of Guatemala, wish to bring this wisdom to all people and hope that the world is finally open to the messages that my ancestors left behind for all to learn. I, Miguel Sague was born in Santiago Cuba and emmigrated to the US at the age of 11. Here I founded the Caney Circle which is devoted to the spiritual tradition of my Taino people.
