Introduction	My name is Wendy and when I was five years old my mum taught me to knit a baby bootie (just the one, I get bored easily). I have been making stuff from fabric and yarn ever since. Sometimes I even finish both booties. I am passionate about craft and five years ago I decided to try to turn my hobby into a career and I retrained to become a design and technology secondary school teacher - specialising in textiles and graphics. I have since taught many children and adults how to knit, sew and make things and this continually fills me with joy. As well as teaching full time, I work as a freelance designer-maker, working mostly on commissions. I am also working on a craft book and currently writing a research paper on children and knitting. I like birds, bright coloured vegetables, knitting on double pointed needles, 1970s prints and other people's sketch books. I think Cath Kidston is over-rated. I neither love nor hate Marmite.
