Introduction Jim Smith is a freelance outdoor writer and wildlife photographer. Jim says he has retired, but that was only so he had more time for photography, writing and shooting a few clays. Prior to his retirement he had his own real estate office in Denver for thirty-five years. Jim is a senior member of OWAA and was formally a member of the Board of Directors, and Chairman Photo Section. He has received local, state and international awards for his wildlife photographs. Many of his photographs have been published in the magazines he writes for. Jim served 8 years as a Wildlife Commissioner for the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Jim also served 6 years as a director for the National Rifle Association. He was Managing Editor and Advertising Manager for MUSKIE Magazine. Jim has been a member of a number of celebrity hunts: One-Shot Antelope Hunt, Lander, Wyoming 1976, 1978, 1979, Two-Shot Goose Hunt, Lamar, Colorado 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, One-Box Pheasant Hunt, Broken Bow, Nebraska 1979, World Muskie Hunt, Minocqua, Wisconsin, 1981, 2004, 2005, 2008, Florida Desert Wild Turkey Hunt, Orlando, Florida 1981, Arkansas Valley Invitational Dove Hunt.
