About me

GenderMale
OccupationBoard Chair, Med Student
LocationPhiladelphia, PA
IntroductionOriginally from Raleigh, NC, I chose to attend Georgetown University in Washington, D.C for undergrad. While a student at Georgetown, my mother was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away during my sophomore year. I founded Students of AMF (“Ailing Mothers & Fathers” and “Anne Marie Fajgenbaum”), a support network for college students grieving the illness or death of a loved one, like myself, in my mother’s memory. In 2006, my best friend, Ben Chesson, and I incorporated the nonprofit organization, National Students of AMF to expand to colleges nationwide. After Georgetown, I completed a master’s degree in Public Health with a focus on cancer prevention at Oxford University in 2008, as a recipient of Georgetown’s Joseph L. Allbritton Scholarship. I am currently a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania. I feel so incredibly lucky to be supported in all that I do by my family and friends, especially my two nieces, Anne Marie and Ava Grace.
