| Introduction | I grew up on a farm in New England, so making things by hand comes naturally to me. I'm happiest when I'm creating, whether it's a shrink plastic bracelet, a poem, a row of sweet peas, or a book. Connecticut, New York City, Seattle, and Charleston, South Carolina, have all been home, but Asheville, North Carolina, seems to keep calling me back. When I'm not here making books with the gang at Lark, I'm usually at my cottage in Maine, where I'm the first to jump in the lake in the spring and the last one to leave the water in the fall. |
