| Introduction | There are three things in life that I absolutely love to do: travel, take photos and write. And I'm lucky to have three passions that can tie in so well with each other. For the past five or so years, I've focused my attention on international trips, and have made it a point to go on at least one big one per year. And they have always been the true highlight of the year that I hope for them to be. But with limited resources in both time and money, it means I spend more time in anticipatory, count-down mode than I do actually on the trips, and I finally decided that this was not the best way to "seize the day". So it finally dawned on me at the beginning of this year that I live in *California* and have been basically sitting passively on a gold-mine of awesomely beautiful places to visit right here in my back-yard (-ish). So from this was born the best and most easily kept-to New Year's resolution: To do one weekend trip away each month to somewhere within a ~4 hour drive of where I live. |
