| Introduction | I am currently a student teacher in Australia. I am at the business end of my degree (B. of Education/B. of Arts) and about to start my first teaching practicum. I have already finished my B. of Arts degree and majored in History and Sociology. As I was reading books, websites and scouring message boards for advice on teaching, I thought it would be best to collect all of my ideas in one place, hence the purpose of this blog. I hope to use this blog to write about my teaching experiences -- the highs and the lows, what worked and what didn't and basically reflect on how I can improve so I won't be a novice teacher anymore : ) John Dewey (1933) argued, we do not actually learn from experiences as much as we learn from reflecting on experiences. Therefore, during my practicum I will endeavor to reflect and examine my experiences so to improve. |
