| Introduction | Limit Sixty Six began about nine years ago with it’s roots in graffiti, anarchism, and punk rock and, more importantly, the way they interconnect. Combining a classic graffiti motto of “Sky’s The Limit” and Kevin’s geographical location of Tulsa, Oklahoma on historical Route 66, Limit Sixty Six was given a name. First, with traditional and political graffiti strictly on city property under the flag of P.A.R., ‘Public Art Reality,’ Limit Sixty Six sought to redefine what public property meant. After a couple of years of being buffed by the State, fate and frustration came together with the fine art of textile printing. Limit Sixty Six embarked on a new direction... What grew from the red dirt of Oklahoma was transplanted to the fertile soil of Austin, Texas. Limit Sixty Six seeks to supercede boundaries of race, gender, and class to expose all people to art in it’s purest form, in it’s most available form... We encourage art of all kinds. Limit Sixty Six, itself, grew out of a desire to showcase DIY art in a mobile, public way. Like graffiti on trains, screenprinting carries art into unexplored territory. Smash the state and create something better. |
