Introduction	雅謌合唱團於1980年由一群熱愛合唱藝術的音樂愛好者創立,致力於呈獻優秀的中外合唱作品,包括香港作曲家的創作及本地較少演出的曲目。創團指揮為羅炳良教授,1984年由蔣慧民接任。多年來,雅謌合唱團曾多次舉行香港首演,包括金湘《詩經五首》、魯特《詩篇慶典》、錢南章《馬蘭姑娘》 Founded in 1980 by a group of choral music enthusiasts, the choir is dedicated to presenting distinguished Chinese and Western repertoire, including works by Hong Kong composers and rarely performed choral pieces. Professor Daniel Law was the founding conductor, succeeded by Chiang Wai Man in 1984. Over the decades, the choir has given numerous Hong Kong premières, such as Jin Xiang’s ‘Five Poems’ from the ‘Book of Songs’ , Rutter’s ‘Psalmfest’ , Chien Nan-chang’s ‘The Maiden of Malan’ , and Tokunaga Kazuki’s ‘Gazing at the Seasons’ . It has collaborated with leading local and overseas ensembles, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, and Allegro Singers, performing major works by Mozart, Mahler, Handel, Fauré, Rossini, Bruckner, and others. Highlights include performing Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony at the opening of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (1989), touring to Tokyo for the Kyōyūkai Choir’s 20th anniversary (2019), and recent performances of Mozart’s and Fauré’s Requiem.
