Introduction	in early 20th century, Nanny, my paternal great-grandmother, and her three sisters, migrated from Tuscon eventually settling in Marina del Rey. Nanny's four children, settled in parts of south L.A. My parents met at Huntington Park High School and graduated in 1950. I attended St. Matthias Elementary School and Catholic Girls High School. As a teen, I waitressed at Kress Dime store on Pacific Blvd., when coffee was 35 cents a cup. I left L.A. for a life in Portola, California, outside of Truckee, to live with my Mom and grandparents. As a city girl, I liked the attention of being the new girl in town and married. But with two toddlers in tow, I Iong-last left the Sierras for my native southern California. Although I live and work in the IE, in my heart, I am an Angeleno. Just feels like home, especially downtown L.A . . . oh ya!
