| Introduction | When people first meet me, they inevitably describe me as quiet. But really, I'm not at all. Basically, I'm shy and I don’t like to look stupid in front of people I’ve just met, so I tend to simply listen for a while until I feel comfortable speaking up. I think I have a form of social anxiety – I get nervous in groups of people, especially with people I don’t know very well. I avoid these situations as much as possible, because it makes me very uncomfortable. I love to read, and have since I was very small. This lifelong obsession with reading is probably why I read so fast now, and also why I am great at spelling. |
