Introduction I believe that reproduction cheapens the world, and that photography degrades what is photographed. However meeting people with disabilities and of different abilities has convinced me that offering glimpses of beautiful places does more good than harm. The Still Wild West is about adventure photography, capturing fleeting beauty where the slow ancience of rock meets momentary storm fronts. I do not write poetry anymore, and really, I never did, so much as poetry lived me, wrote me, directed me, or so it felt, and must feel, both to the hack and the genius, whichever I have been, and will, for its own good, and its own realization. I seek a deeper recognition with the world, and sometimes get chills from good music.
Interests Hiking, canyoneering, mountaineering, literature, poetry, zaniness, individuals, people watching (only those who are odd or damaged or unpredictable), curiosity and science, behavioral psychology, cooking from scratch, gardening, taking things too seriously, painting, manias, phobias, casual lying, history, not taking things seriously
Favorite Movies Dumbo, Apocalypse Now, The Wages of Fear, A Man Called Horse, Unforgiven, ...
Favorite Music "Classical" which could be termed more rightly merely "Music", as only those forms which use so little of the tones available should be marked as sub genres. Prokofiev's first 3 piano concertos are my favorite works. Also admire and appreciate Bach, Beethoven, and many more. Check out the Efraim Podgates Concerto for 2 Violins, as a work you've never heard of. Mozart could only be considered the tops by a people who value beauty and ease and listen to classical music as something to fall asleep too.
Favorite Books The Recognitions and JR by William Gaddiss, Residencia en la Tierra by Pablo Neruda, the Collected Poems of Czeslaw Milosz, Wiszlawa Zimborksa, ...
