Introduction I am in my fourth year working as a Guidance Counselor at El Cerrito High School in the West Contra Costa Unified School District. I absolutely love working with youth. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to interface with young people every day in my job and in working with the Ivy League Connection. This is my second summer as a chaperone with the ILC. It is my hope that I am able to positively influence my students every day even in the smallest way. I enjoy traveling and had the opportunity to serve in the United States Peace Corps from 2005-2007 in The Republic of Kiribati where I taught English at a Junior Secondary School on a small island called Beru. After my service in the Peace Corps, I traveled for an extended period of time on my way back to the U.S. In this time and during my time in the Peace Corps, I was exposed to a number of different cultures/lifestyles. Travel is such a wonderful education! I feel blessed every day for the life that I have! My parents are both educators and have had a huge impact on my life. I hope that I can give back to students as they have in their time in the public schools.
