| Introduction | This blog started as a way to keep in touch with family and friends, but it needs to change because I have changed. I don't need to talk about each class I took or tell you about a walk I took, I need this blog to be different now. I'm different now. I believe in stories and how they change us. Stories can sink into our pores and become part of us. In the past three years I have opened myself up to hearing new stories. These new stories have been mostly from women of color...women like me. I'm opening up to new stories from women who are teaching me about what it means to live in this skin. Stories change us. I want to keep changing, so I'm writing stories in prose and poetry. Some are about me and others are not. Some are biblical and some should be. Some are difficult to hold and some slip out of my hands. This is about stories, so join me and read a new story. |
