IntroductionIn 2007, when Iranian forces kidnapped 15 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines at gunpoint, a group of private individuals set up "Free the Navy 15" to campaign for their release. At the time we warned that Iran would be tempted to take British hostages again in future if Britain was seen to tolerate hostage-taking. Sadly, Iran has now repeated the action by taking hostage five British leisure sailors hostage on 15th November 2009. Like millions of others we were discussing over a pint how outrageous Iran's actions are, and we thought: why not do something about it? We organised protests outside the Iranian embassy last time they took British hostages and are willing to do so again if the Iranian authorities use these new hostages as a political tool rather than returning them swiftly. Keep checking here for news of our planned protests, and email us at freethenavy15@gmail.com to join our mailing list.
