Introduction	So The Eclectic Gardener started as a small sprout in December 1988. I had recently read Paul Hawkins (founder of Smith & Hawkins) book and thought "You know I could do something like that". As a Landscape Architect I had the contacts in the nursery/garden supply business and as an amateur gardener some practical knowledge as well.
