Location | Paris, Maine, United States |
Introduction | I am the mother of four amazing and wonderful sons, rug hooker and co-owner of Parris House Wool Works, an American history and Civil War buff, a passable cook, a consistent reader, an amateur philosopher, and a dog & cat lover. I am a good and loyal friend, would rather be outdoors than indoors, love snow and my cottage on the lake. I'd rather camp in a pop-up trailer with 4 sons & a husband than stay in a five star hotel anywhere in the world. |
Interests | Rug Hooking, American History, New England History & Culture, Antique Homes, Hiking, Camping, 19th Century American Literature & Philosophy, Cooking, Welsh Corgis, Maine Coon Cats |
Favorite Movies | I can't sit still long enough to watch most movies. The medium is inherently passive and I prefer reading when I have time. |
Favorite Music | Shaker hymns, 19th century folk music, classical, traditional and New Orleans style jazz, some alternative country, anything but opera. |
Favorite Books | The Maine Woods - Henry David Thoreau, A Walk in the Woods - Bill Bryson, Self Reliance - Ralph Waldo Emerson, The writings of Thomas Merton, Mother Theresa, and Pope John Paul II, Historical books by David McCullough, The Hungry Ocean - Linda Greenlaw, Books about the "real" Maine, and the Civil War, books by Buddhist monk Tich Nhat Hahn, The 20th Maine by John Pullen. |
