| Introduction | I started running at very early age. Running was just something that I loved to do. I started out by participating in Hershey Track and Field, and then I joined the North Alabama Trackers running club. I got a thrill of it! Just to compete and travel at an early age was awesome. In 1998, I was awarded a track scholarship to the University of South Alabama. I ran four years for the University, which was an awesome experience and I met some awesome people. After that ended, I still ran from time-to-time to stay in shape. Now let’s fast-forward some years…. I started running again on December 14, 2011, after I was released from the doctor due to a sprained ankle. I joined BGR! Charleston, so I would have someone to run with. I never would have thought in a million years that it would have leaded me to running half marathons. I have never been a distance runner and didn't care to be. However, there are so many women that are part of BGR! Charleston and in several other states that inspired me to challenge myself. |
