Introduction I am the student advisor for the Chesapeake High Book Club. I enjoy reading books about characters that have great obstacles to overcome. It doesn't matter what genre. Of course, I love biographies! Some of my favorite authors are Katherine Patterson, Cynthia Rylant, Richard Peck, Neal Shusterman and David McCullough. Several years ago when I started this blog, I read Make Lemonade by Virginia Euwer Wolff, Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman, and Sarah by Orson Scott Card. I would still recommend them! Recently I've read Bomb by Steve Sheinkin, Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell and Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. I've actually started the later several times. It's a very sad book and therefore difficult for me to read. I've stuck it out because a student I admire said this book got her through a painful back surgery. It helped her to realize other people may be going through even more challenging times. I've since finished the book, and I am so glad I did!
Interests I love to read really good books. Ones that hook me! I enjoy reading anytime but especially early in the a.m. while I sip on a hot cup of tea. I also love walking in nature, ballroom dancing, storytelling and creative crafts with a purpose, for instance scrapbooking.
Favorite Movies My favorite movies are the old and quirky, those that make me laugh and documentaries, I love Ken Burns! Anything Cary Grant, like Arsenic and Old Lace and North by Northwest.
