| Introduction | Cathy, a staff writer for Best Friends Animal Society's magazine and Web site, has published one biography, one nonfiction (Pawprints of Katrina, an Amazon.com bestseller) and four true crime books, including the Los Angeles Times bestseller The Killing of Tupac Shakur. Her latest – Rough Guide to True Crime (Penguin) – is set for release in 2009. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, New York Post, San Diego Union-Tribune, George magazine and Reuters. Cathy has appeared on CNN, Court TV, Unsolved Mysteries, Oxygen network’s “Snapped,” NPR and the BBC. She was an adjunct journalism instructor for five years at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. A graduate of the University of Redlands, she’s received dozens of awards. Her work has taken her to Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Panama and Los Angeles, to cover the ’92 riots, and New Orleans to cover Best Friends' animal rescue work on the Gulf Coast. |
