| Introduction | I'm a freelance writer with over 20 years' experience, mainly in the marketing and advertising sectors. My first ambition in life was to be a playwright and in the distant past I attended a workshop hosted by Alan Bleasdale (Boys from the Blackstuff; The Monocled Mutineer) when he was writer-in-residence for the Contact Theatre in Manchester. Although the need to earn a living, family commitments and lack of time forced me to put such ambitions on hold, they have recently enjoyed a renaissance with several commissions including a theatre-in-education script for The Big Act and a series of pantomimes and other scripts for professional touring company Act One Panto. And I have now published 'Flight from Fernilee' for tweens, teens and young adults. I live in a beautiful area of the High Peak and have one daughter and dozens of nieces and nephews. |
