Introduction I've loved playing with and making things from yarn, fabric, beads and paper since I was a young girl. My grandmother and mother taught me to crochet and knit. I learned to sew in home ec. and made many of my own clothes using my mother's wonderful Singer featherweight. I became interested in making quilts when I saw Georgia Bonesteel on PBS, and learned various techniques and approaches by reading the few quilting books available 30 years ago and watching other quilting tv shows. I am a traditional quilter, with a twist, and I like to try new and different techniques and styles. Color is my starting place and I love bright and bold colors and geographic and architectural patterns. When the spirit moves me I like to create my own hand-dyes, and do surface design with fabric painting, monoprints, shibori, and screen printing.
