| Introduction | I've been playing around in kayaks since 1998. I'm currently an ACA Open Water Sea Kayak IT and Advanced Open Water Instructor. For me, sea kayaking is about three things: islands, friends, and surf. ----------------- My favorite gear: --- Boats: I paddle for P&H Sea Kayaks and use a Capella 161 for surf and day paddling, and a Quest LV for bigger water and trips. The Ammo S is my preferred whitewater boat. ----------- Paddles: Werner Ikelos 205cm , bent-shaft. WW is currently a Lendal Fusion. ----------- Favorite companies: Immersion Research = great designs, lightweight, super responsive customer service, and an office only 3 hours away in Confluence, PA. --- NRS = Another great paddling company that's still family-owned and true to its roots. --- Kokatat = I'm convinced that Kokatat makes the best PFDs on the market. Durable and comfortable. Their drysuits are no bargain, but they're proven quality. |
