| Introduction | My name is Sara Farrington, I am a wife and mother of cats. I am an artist and art teacher from South Carolina. I have a BA in Visual Arts, a MAT in Art Education and a MFA in Visual Arts. I have taught elementary, middle, high school and college and am in my 9th year of teaching. Most of my teaching experience is with middle and elementary. I have worked in both rural and urban Title 1 schools for most of my career. I am an extremely organized person, especially in the classroom! I have had many compliments that my classroom is very organized (especially for an Art Teacher). Having organization and systems help give me peace of mind and also I just love to organize. I also strive for autonomy in my classroom. Allowing my students independence where possible is a major goal of mine. This may include getting materials, pace of learning, exploration of materials, cleaning-up, etc. This is learned skill and one that I try to focus on throughout my teaching practice. I am currently teaching at my former High School. After teaching middle and elementary for a few years I'm excited to be back in a High School. |
