| Introduction | To fly even though my wings have been clipped just takes more resolve and imagination. It also requires more energy than I ever believed possible. Maintaining my health feels like riding a super gigantic roller coaster. Sometimes you're speeding along on your way up, enjoying the ride, when all of a sudden that fast drop hits, almost scaring you to death. I will keep struggling to stay aloft, the sun on my wings and the sea breeze blowing gently on my face. Until I cannot anymore. |
| Interests | I love to swim and also take long rolls on the beach. My spouse doesn't like to swim but will help me in/out of my beach wheelchair & dump me into the ocean.I think he enjoys dumping me as much as I enjoy the ocean. Travelling is one of my favourite interests. Nothing broadens the mind like visiting another country and seeing the living conditions that their citizens must grapple with. Makes me treasure home a great deal. I enjoy helping families & have 'adopted' a few that I try to see yearly. I have a good fleet of tech devices. They are indispensable as a quadriplegic as they make my life safer. My newest Kindle means I can access email from my bed even when I am too ill to get up.This is important if I have to reach out for medical advice/help. A smaller android tablet provides a translation program for when I travel & my Dominican attendants don't speak English. I am down to 1 iPhone for all 3 countries. It's great that Canadian law makes carriers unlock your phone, no more fooling around with 3 cells! Although I'm a Nana over 60 now, I've been a video game player ever since Pong first came out. Our household has owned every game system that has ever come out. I still have brand new games for some of the old systems. The Switch is my current go-to system & now that they have stopped the monthly Splatfests, we have switched over to Pokemon Sword & Shield. You are NEVER too old to play video games. I enjoy time on the internet socializing with friends & keeping up with current news. I use the "brain games" to stimulate my brain since it is still suffering side effects of the TBI I sustained in the MVA of 1998. These games force the brain to work on puzzles that challenge language, memory, concentration and other similar skills that I need to keep fine tuning. There is tremendous religious turmoil in the world right now that has harmed religion in the eyes of today's youths. I have made my peace with God and I hope that one day my children will find this also. |
| Favorite movies | Too many to list. |
| Favorite music | If I started alphabetically, then there is Adventura, Bare Nacked Ladies, Beatles, BeeGees, Garth Brooks and Bon Jovi. Celine, Chicago, Duran Duran. Eagles. Finger Eleven. Five for Fighting, Flogging Molly picking up a Celtic pace with the Drop Kick Murphys. And there are just too many! |
| Favorite books | My love of reading extends to both fiction & non-fiction. I'll read the medical reviews that I receive to keep apprised of new research in neurology & pain mgt. Then I'll dive into Lee Child's or Louise Penny's newest fiction. I carry my library in my suite of eReaders, the newest of which my Kobo Aura 1 & Kindle Oasis are waterproof which is a bonus for poolside reading I was just starting to compile a list of my favourite suspense writers: Jonathan Kellerman, Dean Koontz, Michael Connelly, P.D.James, Becca Fitzpatrick, Alexander Mccall Smith, Michael Ondaatje, Erik Larson, P. J. O'Rourke, Rick Mofina, Lisa Unger, And just as I was about to add the remaining list I must have accidentally deleted it because it is gone. All yesterday's work, gone like burp! Since, I have a library of over 10,000 books, whatever I did to Calibre to cause the catastrophic crash is rather distressing. |
What did you dream when you ate a spider while sleeping?
Since I was asleep, I couldn't possibly know that I ate a spider unless my husband told me that I had. Now, if I dreamt that I had swallowed a Fly, then I might indeed remember swallowing the spider to catch the fly!! But that would leave me pondering as to why I swallowed a FLY!! Guess I was snoring after all!😂
