Introduction	Kyle Anne Bates is a writer and photographer originally from Southern California. She has published her work in many journals and anthologies, including: Glimmer Train, The Gay and Lesbian Review, Sinister Wisdom, Askew, Electrum, The Aspen Anthology, Frontiers: A Journal of Women Studies, The James White Review, The Dan River Anthology, Poetry L.A., and Orion Magazine. Her short story, "How It Is" was published in Glimmer Train, and nominated for a Pushcart prize in fiction. Sinister Wisdom recently nominated her for a Pushcart Prize in poetry . She was a columnist and feature writer for Frontiers: the nations best LGBTQ magazine. She is working on a novel, and lives in Seattle with her partner and her dogs.
