| Introduction | My name is Jillian Pikora. I am a graduate of North Carolina State University, where I studied the Middle East, Global Perspectives, and Political Science. After working on several political campaigns in a variety of locales, and volunteering extensively with the Girl Scouts as a lifelong member, I brought my enthusiasm for helping others and organizing events to several Muslim non-profits. I embrace my Muslim community by attending a variety of Masjids where I have helped others begin Girl Scout Troops for their daughters and volunteer to teach young children Arabic. Currently, I am working full-time as a journalist & a writer. I am a contributor to numerous websites and blogs, these can be viewed here. I have been writing in journals since I was seven years old. I write to record details, make observations, journal my daily life, write songs and poems, and short story ideas, then I reflect on these passages in the future. I am so privileged that I now have opportunities to share my writings with an audience. I hope you enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoyed writing it. |
