| Introduction | I'm a follower of Christ because I'm an absolutely horrible person who has fallen short of God's standard. With God's holy and perfect law (the Ten Commandments), I've found that I'm in a world of trouble if God were to judge me by that standard on the Day of Judgment. But because God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment that I deserved by dying on the cross and being raised on the third day, I can partake in God's grace. But I can only receive God's free gift through my faith and trust in Jesus Christ (a trust similar to my trust in a parachute to save my life if I were to jump out of a plane). I do not have to see Hell...a punishment that I fully deserve; because of the blood of Jesus Christ, I've been redeemed...not by anything I could do, so that ONLY God can take the credit. I'm born again and have repented of my sins with the intent of serving my purpose on this planet - to please and glorify God. |
