| Introduction | I am Claire Henning and I love painting. I aspire to be a "daily painter", but sometimes life gets in the way of that goal. So I am an "almost-daily-painter" working in oils, mostly on small canvas panels. I want to share the paintings that I create and maybe some of the life as well. For several years, our family's circumstances prevented me from painting for myself much, especially our youngest daughter's bout with childhood cancer. Then as part of her recovery, we became involved in art therapy. Art has transformed Anna's life and mine. I am a member of Mt. Brook Art Association here in Birmingham, AL, and received an Award of Distinction for my paintings in their annual Spring Show this year. |
