| Introduction | I am a mother of 6 and a grandmother of 9 with the 9th on the way in Apr. I am currently recovering from lung cancer. We thought my husband had cancer and 2 days after we got the good news that he was fine we found out that I possibly had cancer. I ended up in the hospital for 13 days. I had 2 surgeries, one to confirm the cancer and in the 2nd they took 1/2 of my left lung and all of the lymph nodes along the lung, heart and windpipe. The good news was they got it all and I do not require further treatment. I still feel pain from the nerves that were damaged during the surgery. However, I look at each day as a new gift from God and am so thankful that I am home with my terrific husband, who was my rock through all this, and not in a hospital. My heart goes out to everyone who is stuck in hospitals the world over. For me now, greens are greener, the sun shines a little brighter and I thank God I am here to meet my newest grandson and watch all my grandchildren continue to grow. I also thank God that I have more time to spend with the man of my dreams, my soul mate and the man I was meant to spend eternity with, Hugh. For that I am very blessed. |
