Introduction I am born and raised a Missouri Synod Lutheran. I am a Republican and I listen to Talk Radio. I am a firm believer in gun control...I believe in hitting my target! I love my country, and I hate to see it going down this wrong path of Socialism/Communism. God help us fight it! Common sense is becoming less and less common. Many times my wife and I look at each other after watching something crazy on TV and we say "Are we the only sane people left?" I do check Facebook more often than I used to because it seems that is where everyone is hanging out these days. I do occasionally post some items. If people want to reach me, they can either e-mail me or call me on the phone.
Interests Ham Radio, mentoring, History of the Old West, target shooting with small arms, creative writing. I do mostly digital stuff on ham radio. I don't like Morse Code and don't use it.
Favorite Movies Hatari!, 20, 000 Leagues Under The Sea. I also like Westerns and the Star Trek movies. I like the old 1950s war flicks, too. I don't like real bloody movies or movies with sex and nudity. I liked the new Journey To The Center Of The Earth. I also love movies with warplanes in them such as Flyboys and Red Tails. I also liked Battleship. As much as I love airplanes, I should have gone into the Air Force when I was a young man.
Favorite Music Anything by Mannheim Steamroller. I like some of Yanni's stuff but not his newer works. Anne Murray is my favorite country singer. She has a unique and beautiful voice. There are no FM radio stations in my area that I would even consider listening to for music. The only Rock music I would listen to is 50s and 60s stuff. The rest of the Rock stuff reminds me of cavemen screaming while beating on their drums. I consider music to be something that has understandable lyrics, a melody you can hum, whistle or sing along with and a reasonably even tempo. And lets not forget volume that is easy on the ears.
Favorite Books Hatchet, Brian's Winter, Dog Song. Any Louis L'Amour western novel. The Land God Gave Cane. I recently finished reading "The Ice Diaries" by Capt. Donald Anderson of the USS Nautilus, first atomic submarine to cross under the North Pole. One of my favorite Louis L'Amour novels was Last Of The Breed. I have recently come across a comparable author to Louis L'Amour, which is William Johnstone. I really enjoy his books.
