| Introduction | I was born in Mlangi, a village which is known as “small Aceh in Jogjakarta”. It is known so because more than 15 pesantrens are located at this village. Like other pesantrens, Mlangi was popular as a centre of movement and knowledge. I was Chief of Journal Khairul Ummah and Coordinator of Language in Sakan Dormitory of Pesantren Krapyak. My article about Bulughul Maram won the first prize and got President Abdurrahman Wahid’s Trophy. I was Editor in-chief of Tanwirul Afkar, Board Member of Averroes Journal, and lately I was Chief of LTNU in Egypt. I have attended many seminars held at Opera House, Muntada Ibn Rusyd and others, interviewed many Arab intellectuals like Prof. Hassan Hanafi and Jamal Al Banna. My article won the first prize in competition held by Terobosan in Cairo. I became a presenter of many events held by Javanese and Maduranese Student Community in Cairo. I published many articles in local journals, became contributor of many books like Aswaja: Rekontruksi Tradisi yang Hidup and Maqashid Syari’ah. I also translated many books such as best-seller Arabic novel, Emarat Ya’koubin and Maqashid Syariah: Bayna Thumuh Al Mujthahid wa Qushur Al Ijtihad. |
