| Introduction | I have always been a person to see each phase of my life as a new adventure.I have had a quirky habit of giving a name to each segment. I have reserved the name "Dawn" for the grown up me! I have been waiting decades until I had reached enough maturity to qualify as "Dawn". In January I was out flying. While thousands of feet off the ground, floating between clouds I decided to declare "Dawns Arising" as I flew over Mt. Hood.I wondered what lessons I would need to learn to fully grow into my new Identity. As soon as I had landed the lesson of my life began. I was told I needed to come in for a Biopsy on my left Breast, and March 12th 2009 I had breast cancer surgery. This was not the end but the first step in a long trip! I had a 3.8 cm lump removed and was told the cancer has spread to my lymph nodes. A mountain bigger than Mt Hood is before me! Cancer is a lonely walk and I decided I might as well invite my family and friends to travel with me and anyone else so inclined. I am hoping other Cancer Survivors further along in the journey will stop in and say Hi, and encourage one another. "Dawn" |

How about, Global Knowledge? :)butterflies, Chinese gardens, children being kept as slaves, cancer research, goldfish, mystical experiences, cats, American pioneer history, Koi ponds, herbs, essendtial oils, the religious roots of Peaceful Quakers, Jews, and the Amish. Book Making, Journals, Poetry, Writing, Mult Media Art, Historical Fiction, Collecting: Rare books and office quiptment, pens, Royal Typewriters, and Miniature vases. I am learning about all breeds of dogs and learning to care for them better in my home as a dog sitter with Rover.com. I am very fond of senior dogs with medical issues, dogs with anxiety problems and dogs that are aggressive with other other dogs. Every one has a history and needs love whether canine or human. Weekly I enjoy time with my grandchildren. As a former preschool teacher I so enjoy using my former talents. So we play with puppets and puzzels , sing songs and learn shapes and colors and of course read books lots of books. Like I said I am interested in pretty much anything under the Sun, above or beyond it! PS. Have A terrible addiction to the local Library, known for always having huge fines. Check out as many books as my little arms will carry home! |
