Introduction I am a native Arizonian. I got saved when I was 18. I always thought I would go to heaven because I was a good person. One day, a friend invited me to church. I was amazed when everyone opened their Bibles together. A few weeks later I was encouraged by a song that spoke of a God who is real and who listens and cares. I said, "God, if you are really there, do something, anything." Immediately I was filled with a sense of peace and knew that God was in that room with me and that He loved me. I began to understand there is absolutely NOTHING I can do to earn my way to heaven. I observed that if an American wanted to hear about Christ, he/she could. I saw there are many places around the world where there is NO opportunity for people to hear about God, and He began to break my heart for these people. I have been living in Thailand as a missionary for 7 years. I have been in Chiang Khong working with Hmong people for 5 years. I have a hostel for Hmong teenage girls, a place where they can come and learn about Jesus while getting an education. Some are orphans, some have family problems and others come from very poor families who can't afford to send them to school.
