About me

LocationBemidji, Minnesota, United States
IntroductionVillage of Hope (VOH) is a replacement/expansion emergency shelter for families experiencing homelessness in north-central Minnesota. VOH will replace Ours to Serve House of Hospitality's current shelter facility located at 416 Irvine Avenue NW downtown Bemidji, which is licensed for just six beds. Kuepers Architects and Builders was selected as our architect and general contractor because of the company’s specialization in green building projects. (However, over $235,000 of the construction project has been subcontracted to local contractors!) Village of Hope is on schedule to be the first publicly owned LEED certified building in the City of Bemidji! LEED certification is a building quality measurement that indicates that the highest standards of energy efficiency and indoor air quality have been met! Ours to Serve is building green to protect our natural resources and to keep the operating costs of Village of Hope to a minimum, thus ensuring the long-term viability of this expansion project.
