| Introduction | Hi my name is Vanessa.I am from southern California.The reason I am taking this course is because it is required in my career choice,but at the same time I am interested in this class because it will help me be a better informed Mexican-American.This past election was my first time voting and my first time actually paying attention to what politicians had to say,and I would have to say I have never been so confused.I have always considered myself a democrat, mainly because of family influence,but there have been times that I agree with the republican side.Therefore,I consider myself an independent.I took the online quiz and was placed under the post-modern.I somewhat agree with the views of a post modern but there are somethings that I disagree.I agree that we should take care of our enviorment,I am somewhat liberal on social issues,I am a religous person,I agree that the use of diplomacy is better that force,and I am not always supportive of the government.What I hope to get from this class is knowledge about government,that can help me in my political decisions,also to become the above avarage American and not be classified as political apathetic when it comes to politics. |
