About me

IntroductionI am boring. I live with my dear dad and mom, I vaguely work and vaguely school, and vaguely whatever. I'm a Christian and I spend much of my time trying to get to be actually good at it. I need lots of help, but the Lord doesn't hold it against me. I "dearly love a laugh," and I make no secret of it, though I admit I do sometimes make apology for it. I spend a lot of my time making myself put books down, a little less time making myself run--ugh. I like to try my hand at cooking when I have a chance-I have apparently become master quiche creator, though I'm not sure what I've made merits the title. I like my friends (? what kind of stupid answer is that?) and I like people in general. I'm a social, emotional everything type of person. Very non-logical and rational. I'm making myself sound increasingly insane, so I'm done.
InterestsREADING. WRITING. LANGUAGE IN GENERAL. I'm a dork. I love music in almost any capacity whatsoever. I'm rather bashful about it, but I love to sing. And I play around with playing instruments and arranging songs and the like. Not so good, but whatever. I love all things old timey. Old books, old furniture, old jewelry, old music. Distressed furniture makes me want to sigh. Cottage style and shabby chic interiors are my absolute favorites, but shabby chic is one of my least favorite phrases. I like to pretend to be crafty. I scrapbook as much as I can which is not much, but I also longingly eye every single item in craft stores. One day, I will quilt blankets for the homeless. Prove me then therewith, saith me.
Favorite moviesI'm going to put television in here too. I love the OFFICE! One of the funniest show on American television. I'm a fan of Ugly Betty as well, and I love all those clip shows on VH1, but the king of clip shows is obviously the Soup with Joel McHale. Best show ever. Plus Joel's OTHER show, Community. Genius, pure genius. Also love 30 Rock. If it were up to me, NBC would be the only network left on TV. Except I would have to steal Bones from Fox. SOOO GOOD. Love it. I also love Simon Amstell on Never Mind the Buzzcocks on BBC. Thank you YouTube. As for movies: Pride and Prejudice--both versions (I'm a traitor, but I adore Joe Wright's version maybe more than the BBC's), the Bourne movies, the Ocean's movies, 27 Dresses, Just Like Heaven (Mark Ruffalo is a dream in that movie), Guys and Dolls (I'm a sucker for old time Marlon Brando), Dead Poet's Society, A Dark Knight was amazing, Narnia movies (the new ones, not the crap BBC ones--I didn't have as much nostalgic love for those as others), Stardust, Penelope, and I can't really think of any other major ones.
Favorite musicTOO MUCH. Dario Marianelli, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, Disney Music, Bethany Dillon, Third Day, Switchfoot, the Hush Sound, musicals of any kind, Brandon Heath, Brad Paisley!, the Beatles, Josh Groban!, boys' choir music, any choir music, Val Emmich, the Cure, Elvis Costello, the Zutons, Danny Jones' voice, Demi Lovato's voice (don't beat me haha), Nickel Creek, Diego Gonzalez, Kanye West, the Kooks, Nichole Nordeman, the Wombats, Natalie Dessay, Oasis, the Streets, the Pigeon Detectives, Regina Spektor, Taylor Swift, Selah, Rebecca St. James, Jon McLaughlin, Dispatch, Relient K, the Fratellis, the Rocket Summer, the Penelope soundtrack!, Frank Sinatra, Mark Ronson, The Last Shadow Puppets, Sufjan Stevens, Johnny Cash, Starfield, Mark Schultz, James Morrison, Maximo Park, Steven Curtis Chapman, and wow, much more.
Favorite booksAlso too many. I shall try. Numero uno=la Biblia of course! God's words are the best ones. My fluffy books (though I would argue for some non-fluffy merit for each): Miss Match Series-Erynn Mangum, Savannah series-Denise Hildreth, Judy Baer, Deanne Gist, Ray Blackston, In Search of Eden-Linda Nichols, Reconstructing Natalie, Rene Gutteridge, Kristen Heitzmann, many others. My non Christian non actual literature authors/books=Sarah Dessen, Jaclyn Moriarty, and Lost Art of Keeping Secrets (sigh!) by Eva Rice. Slightly more substantial fare as in classic-ish literature: Jane Austen everything, Tale of Two Cities=love, Les Miserables-Hugo, Crime and Punishment-Dostoevsky (oh, for poor Rodya!), J.D. Salinger everything (as my nice self cringes), T.S. Eliot, C.S. Lewis, oh Shakespeah, Oscar Wilde (Importance of Being Earnest=comic genius), Mark Twain, Virginia Woolf, and the list goes on. Some random stuff: Princess Bride, the Story of Spain, City of the Century, Angels in White (gasp! you were wondering when I was finally going to mention a ministry book), Jon Krakauer's Into the Wild (like as in multiple years before the movie--book=twenty times better), Sea Legs (good Goodings times), and probably a bajillion others. Whatever.

What's the earliest you've gotten up to watch cartoons and what did you see?

I remember I would stay up until like 3 in the morning specifically to watch old timey Mickey Mouse Club. Like Vault Disney, Annette Funicello type. I don't know why, but I just absolutely loved that show. I think it was my little secret matchmaker heart liked to pretend Annette and what's his name would get married. I was like 12.
