Interests	Hi. I'm Chris as opposed to Christopher (Unless you're my Mum!) I have been working at the University of Essex / International Academy for 11 years now. I am the Course Strand Leader on the Bridging (Foundation) year. I have also been course leader for ELSSE (English Language Study Skills Enhancement). I also teach on the In-Sessional programme my fields of interest /expertise being Social English and Academic Speaking. I am also an IELTS examiner as well as being involved in ILEC (legal English exam) and Cambridge main suites suchas PET and CAE. I hold a business diploma (BTEC), a BA degree in Literature and History and a postgraduate teaching diploma (DTESOL) I have been teaching English in one form or another for 17 years. i have given presentations at Inform Reading and Newcastle University and had articles published in this field. I am currently doing an MA TESOL to add some further theoretical knowledge to my practical experience. My fields of interest (outside linguistics) include law (many areas but especially the concept of 'fairness'!), history, genealogy (I have researched my family history back nearly 250 years) music (all types but especially electronica and 80's indie). I also love Vespa scooters, travelling, going to festivals and sport particularly football and cricket. A sign that I'm getting older is my increased interest in gardening!
