| Introduction | I'm a 32-year-old starving writer/broadcaster - plying my trade on Minnesota's Iron Range - aka the End of the Earth or Where People Know How to Drink. I am currently unattached and have been called "the dumbest smart kid I know" by my best friend. I've also been told I was born with three strikes against me: 1) I was born in hillbilly country in the Appalachians of West Virginia; 2) I'm 100-percent Finn by heritage; 3) I'm an Iron Ranger (via both my parents). I've spent most of my 32 years in one place or the other around the Range, hence my sporting allegiances are to Minnesota teams and transplanted Minnesota athletes (including Randy Moss, Kevin Garnett, Torii Hunter and Marion Barber III). Three things I know to be true: 1) Randy Moss is the most gifted football player of all time; 2) with the Vikings, the wheels always come off; 3) outside of hockey, Minnesota fans are some of the most fickle in the nation. Besides that, all you need to know about me is that I don't know much. |
