| Introduction | I'm on my journey back to being an RN in the workforce again after 12 years home with 4 kids, a great hubbie, and home daycare. I graduated in 1989 with an ADN. I've worked on a surgical floor, medsurg, doctor's office, and in occupational health at DEA. Then decided to take time off to raise a family. Did the homeschool thing with three of my kids (highly recommend it to anyone who can). I'm currently taking refresher courses (A&P, Pharmacology, ECG Recognition, EMT-B) and have recently become a volunteer EMT-B along the way. The plan is to take an RN return to nursing refresher class this summer. My goal is to work at our community's Level 1 Trauma ED in their ED Fellowship program this fall when our youngest goes to Kindergarten and continue to volunteer as an EMT. The patients in this post are composite patients and names have been changed to protect privacy, etc., etc. No HIPAA violations here. |
