| Introduction | ABOUT ME! My name is Dick Thurston. I was born,raised and graduated high school in Maine. I served in the U.S.Coast Guard and finished my enlistment as an ET-3 at the Loran station on Nantucket Island,Ma. I worked as an Industrial Electrical Apprentice at a Paper Mill in Maine.After several years at the paper mill, we moved to Florida. In Florida, I worked as an Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation Technician.My last 25 years of employment was as a Inst./Elect. supervisor in the mining/chemical Industry. We had a 22 ft cabin cruiser (older model) in the Gulf of Mexico for 17 years which we enjoyed as a family on week-ends and vacations.We then sold the boat and bought a 29ft Prowler RV that we used after the kids had fled the nest.On our 2nd year of retirement,we traded up to a 36 ft -5th Wheel RV and a one ton diesel truck.We traveled to all 49 continental states and stayed at least 3 days in each. We traveled to the Canadian provinces and stayed at least 3 days in all except Northwest Territories and Labrador. We have many happy memories of our time RVing.We were full time RVers for 14 years |
