Introduction I’m a middle aged woman who loves to run. I ran in high school then ran off and on through college. I stopped running upon entering grad school and continued my 0.0 mile/week streak for several years after I had babies. I started back running in 2011. Today, I run all kinds of races. I'm not fast but love to run mud runs, 5ks, 10ks, 15ks, many half marathons & full marathons. It is my goal to run at least a half or full marathon in each state. I'd love to run an ultramarathon one day. I'm a vegetarian, not vegan. I’ve virtually eliminated wheat & other glutinous, high glycemic foods. None of this is extraordinary for many runners...except I'm clinically obese-55lbs too many! Everyone has this mental image of runners being toothpicks but that's just not the case much of the time. So, I'm blogging about my efforts to lose weight AS a runner, NOT by becoming one! Running is not the answer to losing weight; it is part of the problem. When you run a lot you get HUNGRY! Losing weight is all about eating the right foods & the right portions. I know exactly what to do. I just need to actually do it. So, I invite you to take this journey with me to transform from marathoner to mara-thinner!
