| Introduction | Jack Handey said, "The wise man can pick up a grain of sand and envision a whole universe. But the stupid man will just lay down on some seaweed and roll around until he's completely draped in it. Then he'll stand up and go, 'Hey, I'm Vine Man!'" Call me Vine Man. Oh, not for the seaweed thing. That was just something Shelly and I did one warm, moonlit night on the beach at Chincoteague Island. I was referencing the "stupid man" part. Every time I pick up a grain of sand and write about it, I get tangled up in the kelp. m.e. erskine writes on his poetry blog, "The Eyes of the Heart," at thevineman.blogspot.com, has written two plays, "Reduced Seuss: A Nod to the Shakespeare of Silliness" and "Tomorrow Always Comes," and is currently writing a book of poetry entitled, "The Eyes of the Heart," a novel, "God Said It, I Believe It, That Settles It: A Memoir," and a play based on the novel. |
