About me

Gender MALE
Occupation Doctor and writer
Location Wakefield, West Yorks, United Kingdom
Introduction I was born in St Andrews and studied medicine at the University of Dundee in Scotland. I now live in England, within arrow-shot of the ruins of a medieval castle, the scene of my Sandal Castle Medieval Thrillers series of novels. I am a doctor, medical journalist and novelist, writing in several genres. I write crime and historical fiction as Keith Moray, non-fiction and popular medicine as Dr Keith Souter and westerns as Clay More. Curiously, my medical background finds its way into most of my writing. I am a member of various writers’ organisations, including the Crime Writers’ Association, Medical Journalists Association, International Thriller Writers, Western Writers of America and I am a past vice president of Western Fictioneers, a professional organisation of western writers, based in the USA. In my spare time I enjoy the movies, theatre and making bread. I play golf, tennis and run at carthorse speed. As a frustrated actor I have found occasional solace as a supporting artist in TV and film, but enough said about that! I live happily in West Yorkshire with my wife Rachel and whichever of our children and grandchildren who happen to pop home.
